Although there are countless fancy hotels in Abu Dhabi, very few are more glamorous than Emirates Palace.
With a beautiful barbecue setting on the beach at BBQ Al Qasr, fresh seafood at Sayad, gold cappuccinos at Le Café (yes, really) and many other dining options, choosing where to eat in this flashy hotel can be tricky.
But now the hotel has welcomed another eatery – and it looks incredible.
Martabaan is a ‘contemporary classic’ Indian restaurant created by famed Indian chef Hemant Oberoi.
With restaurants in Mumbai, Delhi, Singapore and San Diego, the talented chef is now treating the capital to his creative culinary masterpieces.
Talking about the menu, the chef describes it as “an ode to all my nostalgic musings and wonderful memories of the mélange of sights, sounds, aromas, only to be found in the traditional kitchens of India.”
Our stomachs are certainly rumbling just reading through the list of specialities on offer.
Each section on the menu is split into vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, so whether you’re a real carnivore or you prefer a plant-based diet, there’s loads of choice.
The starters feature chaats and kebabs, and also some more inventive plates like the ‘Grazing Goat’, which features lamb chops with goats cheese and beetroot salad.
Meanwhile, the main courses offer marinated grilled meats (we’ve got our eye on the three-lemon chicken tikka), seafood and traditional delicacies such as tariwala murg and allepy fish curry.
Obviously, there’s some gold involved (this is Emirates Palace after all), and the dum ki sunenhari nalli (pictured) features tender lamb shanks with a gold leaf decoration. We know, it looks pretty incredible, right?
Even the sides sound extraordinary, and we can’t wait to experience a camembert and truffle naan or tomato mozzarella kulcha.
Dining out in the capital just got even better.
