Could this restaurant have the best views in Abu Dhabi?

There’s a new menu at revolving restaurant Stratos

Abu Dhabi is a city of extraordinary dining experiences. During the cooler months we can dine on a helipad at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, eat by the sea at the island retreat of Zaya Nurai Island and dine like bedouins at Jumeirah Al Wathba.

But during every month of the year, we can impress our loved ones and visiting relatives with a sky-high restaurant that actually revolves in a 360-degree circle.

Yes, Stratos at Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi is an extra-special kind of venue, and that’s not just because the panoramic views over the capital slowly change as you dine (don’t worry it’s not so fast that you won’t be able to find your table again when you come back from the bathroom).

The food is great here, too, and the dining room is super classy.

It recently revamped it’s menu and now the options are more exciting than ever before, with starters such as Spanish octopus carpaccio topped with aubergine cream, steak tartare with truffled mayo and foie gras terrine served with a juicy grape and plum purée.

Meanwhile, the mains include satisfying dishes such as corn-fed chicken with spicy carrot purée, and confit duck.

This colourful dish combines crispy duck skin with soured red cabbage, caramelized Pink Lady apples and wood-fired dauphinoise potatoes, and it sounds absolutely mind blowing.

But perhaps the most tempting part is the succulent cuts of beef, which have been sourced from across three continents. Each piece of meat is specially cooked to order in the indoor charcoal Josper oven, which both smokes and grills the meat at the same time.

But you’ll need to save room for dessert too, as there’s a baked alaska stuffed with rose and pistachio sorbet and a salted caramel chocolate tart that both definitely have your name on them.

We can’t wait to take this impressive new menu for a spin.
Prices vary. Daily 5pm-1am. Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa Street (02 674 2020).
