Dusk on Zaya Nurai Island has an exciting new menu

Great food and amazing views from the Mexican restaurant

When we think of Mexican food, we probably  picture tortilla wraps, marinated meats, spicy salsa, sour cream and collosal amounts of creamy guacamole.

And while there’s nothing wrong with the fabulous classics like fajitias, burritos and cheesy quesidillas, Dusk is on a mission to introduce us to a new type of Mexican cuisine.

With a spot on the utterly gorgeous Zaya Nurai Island (we’ll never ever stop fantasising about living there full-time one day), plus a funky, colourful interior and outdoor terrace overlooking the startlingly blue waters that surround the resort, it has always been one of the most impressive venues in Abu Dhabi. But, not content with having such a mind-blowing location, the cool and casual restaurant has also made itself extra appealing by revamping its menu.

The starters feature so much more than nachos and piles of guac (although those are on there too, and also sound pretty excellent).

There are so many dishes that we haven’t tried before, and we really can’t wait to get our hands on them. They include corn tortillas stuffed with quail eggs (told you it was fancy), black bean purée and cheese, slow-cooked octopus with corn puree and the intriguing steamed tamales, featuring pulled beef and two different types of salsa, all wrapped in traditional corn husk.

There are also chicken wings, a kale and manchego cheese salad, deep-fried cheese with jalapenos and beef bacon and more.

The mains also present an incredible choice, with signature Caesar salads prepared right at your table, lobster and baked fish tacos, a variety of ceviches and of course, sharing-style fajitas with every type of meat, fish and vegetarian filling you could want.

Dessert is also a big event, and we won’t rest until we’ve devoured very bit of the strawberry cheesecake chimichangas.
It all sounds like it’s on another level of delicious and exciting.
