Why you need to check out the new look at Abu Dhabi’s Amerigos

Sponsored: The Mexican bar and restaurant on Yas Island has had a funky transformation

We already loved Amerigos Mexican Bar & Restaurant but it’s now had a makeover that has taken it to a whole new level.

The Yas Island venue has been a big favourite since opening ten years ago and a renovation has added a cooler and funkier edge,
Bringing the colourful streets of Mexico to the sandy suburbs of Abu Dhabi, the new-look Amerigos has big, dark wooden tables and brick-red walls, adorned with playful puns in neon lettering.

The chairs add some mid-century modern brass and leather touches, and the bar and dining room is lined with street art-inspired murals and portraits of Mexico’s cultural icons.

When it comes to food, the venue’s Mexican roots and heritage are plain to see, from the classics done with a fun and modern twist to the new vegan and vegetarian options.

Fernando Fernandez, food and beverage manager of the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Yas Island, says: “When I first opened Amerigos ten years ago as its restaurant manager, I promised our patrons that we will be serving good authentic Mexican cuisine. This is the very reason why we have managed to keep a lot of guests loyal to us for years.

“This time around, we want people to have fun and be entertained while dining so expect a few surprises and a bit of show.”

You can also expect new themed nights and live entertainment alongside the already popular Thursday night and Friday brunches.
