Why you should eat your way around Abu Dhabi’s Al Maryah Island

It’s a prime foodie spot in the capital

You can enjoy the whole world on a plate when you hop over to this gastronomic island destination in Abu Dhabi.

The Galleria Al Maryah Island is home to one of the most impressive rosters of restaurants in the whole of the UAE.

The big-hitters taking pride of place in the massive retail and leisure hub include multiple award-winning Japanese favourite Zuma, classy Italian Roberto’s, high-end steakhouse Nusr-Et, Latino spot Loca, popular Peruvian venue COYA and quality Chinese eatery Dai Pai Dong.

As if that wasn’t enough, classic continental restaurant, La Petite Maison and  Japanese-by-way-of-Spain venue 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant are also in the vicinity.

Away from the luxury venues, there are more casual cafés and bars, such as Eat Greek and the rather excellent European bar and restaurant Bentley Kitchen, too.

Bookending The Galleria, which recently extended with more than 250 new shops and 70 new places to eat inside, are the Four Seasons Abu Dhabi and Rosewood Abu Dhabi. Both hotels have brilliant places to eat. From the Four Seasons’  incredible steakhouse Butcher & Still and classy Italian Cafe Milano to Rosewood’s grape cellar La Cava and Lebanese eatery Sambusek.

In the new part of The Galleria there are some great options, too, including the world’s largest Magnolia Bakery and a build-your-own pizza place, Blaze Pizza, and tasty chicken joint Raising Cane’s.

Whether you’re after a few bar nibbles, a slap-up meal or a stop-off while shopping, Al Maryah Island has it all.
