Try these Time Out-recommended venues

There are loads of amazing Indian restaurants in Abu Dhabi, whether you’re after cheap and cheerful or a swanky night out, you’ll find it in the capital. But we’re here to talk about the swish, date nights spots you need to try.

Ready to go out and treat yourself? Here are three high end Time Out-recommended Indian restaurants to try in Abu Dhabi.

Martabaan

Great Indian food comes in all shapes, sizes, forms and settings. From a humble thali, dosa, samosa or roti that you can buy on the street to being served picturesque creations in high-end restaurants, Indian food really has all the bases covered. While we’ll happily chomp away on some dahl makhani that offers change from a Dhs10 note, there’s really nothing like getting dressed up and enjoying an Indian feast at a fancy restaurant. Punjab Grill

Here in Abu Dhabi you can have a very tasty and filling Indian feed on a paper plate using plastic cutlery by the side of the road for less than Dhs10 per person, or you can head to one of the high-end restaurants and spend upwards of Dhs250 per person for a meal accompanied by silver service, dry ice and decadent surroundings. Punjab Grill, it should be said, is right at the top end of the spectrum. It has a sophisticated setting at Venetian Village by Khor Al Maqta and has plates of food that are a treat for the eyes as well as the stomach.

Tamba

Our expectations are always high when we visit one of our award-winning restaurants. Does it still wow? Is the food still great? The ambiance welcoming and experience outstanding? It’s a high bar that we hold all past winners to. With Tamba, however, there are never any doubts. We’ve visited this stylish Indian restaurant many a time and it hasn’t disappointed yet.
