America has given us lots of things we love including music, sports, films and fashion but we’ve got to be honest it’s the food we love most.
While not all Americans spend their whole lives eating hot dogs, nachos, tater tots and mac n cheese (how could they?), these dishes are synonymous with the States and we like tucking in to all of them.
Ready to try some American dishes? Here are some of Abu Dhabi’s top dishes from the good old US of A to tackle.
Fried Tater Tots at Stars ‘N’ Bars Abu Dhabi
A perfect dish for a get together and a perfect dish to kick off our list is the Fried Tater Tots from Stars N Bar. One of the restaurant’s signature dishes, the tater tots are fried to perfection, served with ketchup espuma and are veggie friendly. Priced at Dhs30, punters can add Parmesan and truffle for an extra Dhs5 for this tasty treat.

Crab mac n cheese at Butcher and Still
The bio describes Butcher and Still as “a modern interpretation of a 1920s Chicago steakhouse inspired by the Al Capone era” and while the steak is oh-so-good, we are recommending the amazing Crab mac n cheese. It may be offered as a side but it is so tasty diners may well be asking for a second batch.

12-piece Texan BBQ wings at Black Tap
When it comes to food is there anything more American than a plate of juicy chicken wings, drenched in barbecue sauce? We don’t think so, and at Black Tap it is unlikely that you will find any better in the whole of Abu Dhabi. For Dhs68 you can have 12 chicken wings covered in sweet barbecue sauce, spring onions, served with house buttermilk-dill. Are you drooling yet?

Philly Cheese Steak at The Sportsman’s Arms
Anyone who has ever been lucky enough to visit Philadelphia will know there is one dish that all locals recommend and that is the Philly Cheese Steak. Fortunately you do not have to go to the City of Brotherly Love to get your hands of one of these delicacies as The Sportman’s Arms serves up its own superb take on the dish. NY strip steak is covered with melted onions, roasted peppers, gravy and cheddar curds.

Nacho Burger at Stock Burger Co
There are plenty of patties from which to choose but our favourite, and Time Out recommendation, is the Nacho Burger. A tender 150g of premium beef patty is cooked to medium before cheddar cheese, crispy tortilla chips, guacamole, spicy tomato salsa, sour cream, pickled jalapeño, iceberg lettuce and the special Stock Burger sauce is added. What more could you ask for?

BBQ Ribs at Famous Dave’s
When it comes to barbecue ribs then Famous Dave’s must be at the top of your list in Abu Dhabi. The ribs are hand rubbed with a custom blend of spices and slow cooked over a live-wood smoker which is stoked with genuine hickory logs before they are thrown on the grill for the sauces to caramelise. What is produced is some of the most sweet, tender ribs you will ever taste.

The 28-inch Party Pizza at Russo’s New York Pizzeria
No list of US dishes would be complete without an overindulgent slice of pizza. Russo’s New York Pizzeria provides diners with the supersized 28-inch Party Pizza. The pizza comes with garlic bread, two starters, which include cauliflower frittis, Italian Arancini and buffalo wings, two kinds of pasta as well as 20 giant cookies. The perfect package for you and your friends with which to enjoy the Superbowl.
