Luxury Abu Dhabi hotel Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island has opened its restaurants to the public.

Following a year filled with successes in 2019 – which saw the beachfront resort hotel establishing itself as Abu Dhabi’s first all-inclusive hotel – Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island is pleased to open its doors to outside guests, welcoming them to experience luxury dining at their four a-la-carte restaurants

There are four à la carte restaurants to check out, Aja Asian & Teppanyaki Restaurant, Orient, L’Olivio and Mermaid, all open from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and all with new menus.

Whether you fancy a quick bite with sundowners or a full-on feast, the hotel has something to offer, with the restaurants spanning cuisines from Japan to Italy and Turkey and one speciality seafood restaurant.

To coincide with the news, the hotel is offering a 25 percent discount on the bill only available to Time Out readers.

Available until the end of March, all you need to do is quote the discount code RPSI2020 when booking (and mention it again once you’re in the restaurant). The offer is valid for up to four people, but isn’t applicable on shisha.

At seafood restaurant Mermaid you can sit by the sea and sample the freshest of fish dishes. Specialities include smoked octopus with sweet potato purée, seafood orzo with shrimps, and calamari with seafood bisque. It’s all served in a romantic atmosphere and setting. Mermaid is closed on Tuesday.

Orient is the hotel’s Turkish venue, tapping into the Rixos’ heritage. Anatolian dishes are served in a fine-dining setting with indoor and outdoor areas. The menu includes dishes such as lamb shank confit with freekeh bulgur and glaze-dried plum and manti with minced beef and mashed tomato sauce. There are plenty of Turkish sweet treats available, too. Orient is closed on Wednesdays.

You’ll want to head to L’Olivio if you’re a fan of Italian food. The restaurant focuses on hearty, simple food that draws on classic Italian cooking. Must-tries include the roasted beef ribs with beetroot couscous and spinach, saffron risotto with ossobuco, and the traditional homemade pizzas. All the dishes are made with the finest ingredients sourced from Italy. There’s an outdoor terrace and live opera singers on hand to crack up the atmosphere. L’Olivio is closed on Sundays.

The fourth restaurant is Aja Asian & Teppanyaki, which offers a modern take on classic Japanese food. It’s another venue with indoor and outdoor seating and it has a sushi bar and a bar serving traditional Japanese drinks. There’s live music here, too, and an eclectic new menu with dishes such as confit duck leg with baked beans, sautéed spinach, and soya glaze, a shrimp tower, and the deep fried tempura shrimp with chili mango and lime wedges. Perhaps the most exciting part is the live Teppanyaki, cooking stations. You’ll want to book ahead for this section. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.

General manager of Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island, Burçak Orak says: “Having successfully established Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island as the first all-inclusive all-exclusive fully integrated beachfront resort in Abu Dhabi, and due to popular demand from outside guests, we have decided to expand our à la carte venues to everyone wanting to experience a slice of Turkish hospitality and premium gastronomy.
