Abu Dhabi’s best suhoor options for Ramadan 2021

Where to go in Abu Dhabi in the early hours of the morning

During Ramadan in Abu Dhabi, there are two major occasions every evening after sunset – iftar and suhoor.

Suhoor is a meal taken just before sunrise, before the day of fasting starts.

Restaurants across the capital are hosting suhoors, and we’ve listed the top options here.

Ramadan 2021 is due to start on Monday April 12, but it’s dependent on the sighting of the moon.

Here are all of the restaurants in Abu Dhabi hosting suhoor for Ramadan 2021.

Afyä

Enjoy an à la carte suhoor menu with shisha available as an add-on.

Al Rimal Restaurant

This Ramadan, Al Rimal (which means ‘the sands’ in Arabic) will be serving local favourites for suhoor. The menu features Emirati, Arabic, Khaleeji and Indian delights and highlights include hearty chicken thareed, lamb machboos, harees, grilled beef, lamb chops, and plenty of sweet treats. Reservations are required and the suhoor comes in at Dhs120 per person.

Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa

Set in a Bedouin setting, you can tuck into a mixture of Moroccan and Arabic dishes. Special dishes include lamb tagine, mixed grill, chicken pastilla, manakish, homemade kunafa and Arabic and Moroccan sweets, and shisha is also available.

Artisan Kitchen

Enjoy a laid-back setting with shisha every evening throughout Ramadan.

Assymetri

Assymetri’s dinner buffet features live cooking stations and al fresco seating facing the pool.

Azura Panoramic Lounge

Grills@Chill’O

This cool rooftop restaurant is embracing Ramadan with a special suhoor menu. Expect a wide range of dishes, Ramadan drinks and shisha alongside a relaxed atmosphere and pretty sea views.

Layali El Hilmiya pop-up

Every evening from 11pm onwards, this pop-up at Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi is offering a selection of set menus along with shisha.
A redefined inner-city setting featuring a selection of a la carte menus and options for shisha lovers available from 11pm.

Li Beirut

Sit back and relax on the Market at EDITION terrace with a traditional à la carte suhoor menu featuring both savoury and sweet treats.

Mazaj Bab Al Bahr

Mazaj Bab Al Bahr is serving up Lebanese-Mediterranean flavours, with flame-grilled meats, mezze, freshly baked bread, fresh salads and specialty coffee. The beach garden area has space for 149 guests, expect comfy low seating and panoramic views.

Mermaid Restaurant

Enjoy a family-friendly suhoor at Mediterranean restaurant, Mermaid. Hosted on the terrace and with views of Saadiyat Beach, you can tuck into an à la carte menu of Middle Eastern specialities including hot and cold mezze, chargrilled chicken kebabs, beef kebabs with smoked potatos, salads and a selection of baklava and fresh fruits fruit. To complete the experience, shisha will also be available.

Mezlai

Based in the luxurious Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, Mezlai is a top spot to discover Emirati delicacies. You can tuck into traditional Arabic favourites from the à la carte menu with a Dhs150 minimum spend.

Mijana

Found inside one of Abu Dhabi’s my luxurious hotels, The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal, this authentic Lebanese restaurant is serving an à la carte menu featuring Arabian favourites.

Osmo

Equipped with board games, a relaxed atmosphere, Arabic coffee upon arrival, customised mocktails and a tasty à la carte menu, a fun suhoor experience awaits at Osmo.

Pearl Lounge

Shangri-La Hotel’s suhoor offering features an Arabesque à la carte menu, kunafa and baklava stations, a chocolate trolley, a wide selection of different shisha flavours, and daily movie nights by the pool and beach. You can choose to spend the evening by the pool or visit Hikayat Lounge or Aladin and Jasmin Majilis.

Sky Lounge Thirty-One is well worth a visit for the superb views of, well, the sky and this Ramadan you can elevate your suhoor with a special à la carte menu, shisha and Ramadan drinks.

Tean

The four-course set menu features Levant favourite like red lentil soup, mezze, cheese sambousek, shish kebab, Ramadan juices, mocktails, dates, dried fruits and Arabic sweets.

The Lobby Lounge

The Pool Deck

The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort

The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort’s gorgeous beachfront area is offer a special al fresco suhoor experience. The menu draws on local Arabic and Mediterranean influences and highlights include a healthy beetroot and labneh salad jar, spice-crusted calamari, Angus beef sliders, and a chicken shish taouk wrap served with a tangy, garlicky yoghurt. Sweet tooth? End your suhoor with ricotta kunafa roll with pistachio ice cream or sticky date pudding with tahini ice cream. Shisha will also be available in the elegant beach lounge.

Two.0 at Cove Beach Abu Dhabi
