Apple reveals new Apple Watch Series 6 for UAE

Featuring a blood oxygen sensor and app, new cases and watchOS 7

Another year, another swanky new upgrade of Apple’s popular smartwatch. This time, it’s far more capable of tracking your health.

And, there’s plenty of new colours to choose from.

Apple revealed its new Apple Watch Series 6 Smatwatch, introducing its all-new blood oxygen sensor and app, various case finishes and bands, along with the watchOS 7.

Now available to order, the Series 6 comes with improvements to better understand user’s overall fitness and wellness, thanks to the blood oxygen sensor.

This handy feature measures the oxygen saturation, or SpO2, of the user’s blood, indicating how well this oxygenated blood is being delivered throughout the body.

Basically, it’s an always-on health check-up, and users will be able to track trends over time to see how their blood oxygen level changes.

As for what’s under the hood, it uses a new dual-core processor based on A13 Bionic in iPhone 11, along with an upgraded S6 SiP that runs up to 20 percent faster, allowing apps to also launch 20 percent faster, while maintaining the same all-day 18-hour battery life.

It also features a U1 chip and Ultra Wideband antennas, which offers a short-range wireless location to support new experiences, such as next-generation digital car keys. Even better, it has a faster charging time, completing a full charge in under an hour and a half.

But what about those colours? For the first time, a new blue joins the silver, space grey, and gold aluminium case options, along with an original RED Apple Watch with exclusive matching bright red bands.

Stainless steel models are also available in graphite, a rich grey-black hue with a high-shine finish, and an updated classic yellow gold colour. There will also be three new band styles.

As for watchOS 7, expect seven new watch face options, including Stripes, Chronograph Pro, GMT and Artist, along with new health and fitness features, including low-range VO2 Max, sleep tracking, automatic handwashing detection, and new workout types.

The Apple Watch Series 6 with GPS starts at Dhs1,599, while the Apple Watch Series 6 with GPS and Cellular starts at Dhs1,999. Better yet, it’s available to order today from www.apple.com and in the Apple Store app
