Abu Dhabi schools issued with safety guidelines for returning students and staff

All the safety procedures, requirements and guidelines

Abu Dhabi’s schools are set to reopen for the new term with in-person learning for pupils.

Ahead of schools opening up to returning students and teachers, strict safety guidelines have been sent to each school by the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).

All schools are subject to pre-opening checks and must meet expectations to be allowed to welcome back students and teachers.

All staff and students over the age of 12 are required to have a COVID-19 test and a negative result to return to school.

Once in the school further safety procedures include a physical distance of 1.5m, a maximum of 15 students per classroom, daily temperature checks of all those on campus and mandatory wearing of masks for persons over the age of six.

Break times will also be staggered and sports and extracurricular activities will be temporarily suspended until further notice.

All the safety procedures will be clearly displayed inside schools to prevent confusion.
