The Future of Education – how do schools look now?

Sponsored: From social distancing to isolation rooms, here are what measures have been put in place

It’s almost time for students in the UAE to go back to school, but things are very different this term than they’ve been in the past.

After 12 weeks of distance learning, and a two-month holiday, it will be a big change for students to return to the classroom.

And with the return of in-school lessons comes a lot of new safety measures.

In this video Campbell Douglas, Principal of GEMS Wellington Academy Al Khail, talks us through what students can expect when they return to the school.

The set-up for learning will be different – with social distancing measures in place throughout classrooms and corridors, maximum occupancy classroom levels and more.

There will be thermal cameras at entry points, temperature checks and dedicated isolation rooms – as well as stringent sanitisation taking place.

Meanwhile lunches will be in pre-packed containers, or students can bring in their own, while contact sports such as basketball and netball have been temporarily discontinued.

To see all the practical measures put in place watch an exclusive video with GEMS Wellington Academy here.
