Free online wellbeing talks and virtual kids’ storytelling sessions in Dubai

Dubai Flow Talk Series celebrates Ramadan 2020 with virtual talks

The healthy eating and creative hub Flow is celebrating Ramadan 2020 virtual talks, exploring physical and mental wellbeing, motivation in crises and traditional storytelling.

Taking place every Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm via Instagram Live community icons including founder of The LightHouse Arabia Dr. Saliha Afridi, children’s book illustrator and author Maitha Al Khayat, along with Emirati entrepreneur Omar Al Busaidy will be taking part.

First off, On Wednesday May 13, Dr. Saliha will be sharing her expertise in mental health, ranging from being productive at home as a parent to burnout within the workplace. Her aim is to raise awareness on best practices for mental health and wellness.

The week after, Al Khayat, an Emirati mother of five, will be reading one of her children’s books that explores Emirati culture and traditions and talk about the inspiration behind it, before ending the session with an interactive art session.

Along with being a board member of the UAE Board of Books for Young People (UAEBBY), she’s published 172 publications, and also writes for children’s TV shows including the newly relaunched Arabic version of Sesame Street and the Emirati cartoon series Hamdoon.

Finally, on Wednesday May 27, Omar Al Busaidy will engage audiences on ways to deal with life’s challenging times by outlining the premise of his self-help book Just Read It and his upcoming futurism book Why Jobs are Robots and Life is for People.
