Enjoy a whole host of activities at the world’s only official F1 FanZone, which is based at the Corniche too. This two week Yasalam community event is completely free and involves motorsport-inspired entertainment for the whole family. There will be interactive simulators, remote control car racing, driver signings, official Formula 1 Team merchandise and live outdoor screenings of the big F1 races. If you want to know what it feels like to be a Grand Prix driver then this is the place to visit.
Yasalam Racing Challenge
Experience the virtual thrill of racing in this gaming challenge where you compete on F1 2011 simulators to make the virtual final grid on November 13th. The winner of the race around Yas Marina Circuit will win two invitations to the Yasalam first night concert on Yas Island. Places are limited so run down to the F1 FanZone if you want to show off your driving skills.
Pit Stop and Refueling Challenge
These challenges allow fans to experience life in the pit lane, as teams compete to quickly and efficiently change the tyres and refuel an F1™ car in a ‘real life’ setting against the clock, or against the other participating teams.
Podium Photo Finish
The perfect photo opportunity awaits fans as they climb to the top step of the podium with a trophy. This popular activity really comes to life with each participant given an authentic racing suit to pose in.
Sand Sculptures
Sand artists will create a sculpture over the course of the F1 FanZone. Interactive workshops will be held with kids, families, students, in which they will learn the techniques of sand sculpting and can add to the sculpture too.
Kids Driving School (part of Yasalam Responsibly)
Yasalam meets every child’s dream with the Kids Driving School. Using electric cars of the world’s most famous brands, children will be taken around the track with the help and guidance of trained instructors. Kids will learn fun and useful facts about driving and the importance of road safety.
