Abu Dhabi Grand Prix quick guide

How to get there, what to see and where to get tickets

How to get there
The Yas Marina Circuit is just a 25 minutes drive from the main island, with most roads well signposted. You should know that there’s limited parking and it’s about Dhs70 from downtown by taxi. Buses will also be organised to transport visitors to and from the circuit; look out for times and details to be announced on the www.yasmarinacircuit.ae closer to the time.

Support Races
The final Formula 1™ race is on this Sunday, but throughout the weekend there will be a number of support races to stop your mind wandering off. Firstly, there’s the 2011 GP2 final, which is the format of racing just below GP1 (hence it’s a training ground for rising stars), Porsche Mobil 1 Super Cup and Porsche GP3 Cup Challenge Middle East, in which German supercars battle it out.

Entertainment
Formula 1™ in Abu Dhabi also means a chance to see and hear some great music and entertainment. Yasalam, the largest city-wide entertainment programme by any F1™ host city, has seen over half a million people through its doors since its launch back in 2009. Yasalam will be hosting Live Across the City, Live on the Corniche and Live on Yas Island, bringing a mix of sport, film, music and community events to residents and visitors in the city of Abu Dhabi.

Alongside signature events Beats on the Beach, F1™ FanZone, Cinema by the Sea and the Yasalam Parade the programme has evolved this year with some exciting additions including TROPFEST Arabia, Cut&Paste and the UAE’s first public screening of the thrilling documentary sweeping the racing world – Senna. Britney Spears, The Cult, Incubus and Sir Paul McCartney will all be taking the stage for Yasalam’s After Race Concerts on Yas Island.

For the kids
Formula 1™ is also all about getting the youngsters involved. The F1™ Zone on the Corniche will show family movies, while the area screening the live races will have fun and games for kids.

TV schedule
The ticketless need not miss out and you can watch all the races on Abu Dhabi TV, find a spot on the Corniche where the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be screened live, or head to your favourite pub.
