It’s undeniable that golf is not the cheapest of sports. But during the hot summer months the city’s courses aim to lure players outdoors with a range of promotions, from bargain lessons with PGA pros to great summer packages. Take advantage of these clubs’ discounted summer rates so you can stay out on the greens all through the season. Just make sure you wear cool clothing and take plenty of water with you.
Abu Dhabi Golf Club
The course: This sprawling club has 27 championship holes. The terrain features pockets of palm trees, shrubs and seven spectacular saltwater lakes across the extensive grounds. The course offers plenty
of variety, so you’ll be challenged whether you’re new to the game or an experienced golfer.
Summer offer: Abu Dhabi Golf Club has three exciting packages to choose from until September 30. The Summer Package costs Dhs750 and includes four 30-minute golf lessons, membership to the Golf Institute for one month and you can bring a friend at no extra charge. The Summer Package Plus costs Dhs1,500 and includes five 30-minute golf lessons, one on-course playing lesson and membership to the Golf Institute for one month. The On Course for Improvement package costs Dhs500 and is a nine hole lesson to sharpen your skills, improve your routine and manage your way around the golf course better, all ultimately helping to lower your scores. If you just want to get out and hit a few balls, for Dhs50 you can get unlimited use of the driving range.

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club
The course: Designed by golfing legend Gary Player, SBGC is a striking beachfront course with one third boasting spectacular views of the sea. One of the newest Abu Dhabi clubs, this is a particularly challenging course with plenty of imaginative touches, from an aquatic themed area to saltwater lagoons and sand dunes.
Summer offer: The Monthly Summer package includes 30 consecutive days’ use of the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club practise facility, four 30-minute individual golf lessons, one 60-minute on-course playing lesson (when booked before August 18) and all day twilight green fee rates (Sunday to Thursday). Prices are Dhs950 per person (based on one-to-one instruction), Dhs750 per person (based on two students) and Dhs600 per person (based on three students). The Monthly Summer package can be tailored to an individual’s needs and are arranged with your schedule in mind. From the seasoned golfer to total beginner, the SBGC Academy is the perfect place to improve your golf skills this summer (rates are valid until September 30, 2012 all lessons must be taken by September 30, 2012).

The course: With an 18 hole course, a nine hole academy course and floodlit practise facilities, this award-winning course is sure to please. And it should, being the brainchild of Kyle Phillips, who is
one of the world’s leading golf course designers.
Summer offer: Yas Links’ 2012 Summer Passport offers incentives for weekday and weekend play on both the Links course and the floodlit par three academy course, with green fees starting from Dhs50 per player. Repeat golf can be played on the links for Dhs199 a round while weekend costs are Dhs257.50 a round. Not wishing the coaching staff to have a quiet summer, the Yas Links Academy again has some amazing offers with 30-minute lessons costing Dhs112.50 a lesson.
