Thousands of e-books, films, comics and music are now available free in the UAE

Register for the British Council’s digital library and access all the content

The British Council has launched a new digital library in the UAE.

The free-to-access online resource features thousands of academic resources and entertainment including movies, e-books, newspapers, music and more.

It will also support students and readers with online study resources, e-books and audiobooks.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our new digital library in the UAE, it’s a fantastic resource and has something for everyone, from Harry Potter to The Economist, to live music concerts and professional development tools.

“We believe it can help build vital learning skills, improve wellbeing and provide world-class entertainment,” said Aida Salamanca, director, British Council UAE.

“In these difficult times, there’s a need to connect people, and this resource provides the UAE with the best in British culture, ideas and values.

“Now, more than ever, we need to facilitate cultural exchange and cooperation and we hope young and old will take advantage of this great hub, and benefit from the rich resources we have gathered.”

Here in the UAE you can access:
• 2,400 newspapers from over 100 countries.
• 4,000 magazines.
• 3,000 e-books and audiobooks.
• 1,500 comics and graphic novels.
• 7,000 films.
• 600 theatre productions.
• 100,000 academic books.

Training to use various software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe and more, is also available.

All you need to do is register by visiting www.britishcouncil.ae/en/english/learn-online/digital-library then you can download the app to access all content from your smartphone.
