Christmas movies to watch this month

Top feel-good festive Disney films for kids

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and that is thanks in part (in our opinion) to the slew of Christmas films that hit our screens.

That said, there are so many to choose from that it invariably ends up in family debates about which one to watch.

Well, let us help to take the arguments out of your festive viewing with our recommendations of the best Disney Christmas films to watch with the kids.

You’re welcome. Now, pass those mince pies.

My Friends Tigger and Pooh: Super Sleuth Christmas Movie

If you’ve got tiny tots in the house, you can’t go wrong with a classic, and this is it. All kids love Pooh and all adults we’ll bet, too. In this Christmas film, the lovable stuffed bear and his friends work together to rescue Santa’s lost reindeer-trainee, Holly.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

The plot will come as no surprise. It’s the classic tale of a miserly old man who loves money, hates Christmas and is visited by three ghosts who try to help him see the error of his ways, told by the Muppets. It has become a classic in its own right and will be a favourite with the kids, even though they won’t remember the original Muppets being on their TV.

A Christmas Star

Perhaps lesser known than some of the others in the list, but that doesn’t make it less worthy to be here. When a developer threatens Noelle’s peaceful life, she and her friends use her gift of performing miracles to thwart his plans and save their village.

Saving Christmas

His annual Christmas party faltering thanks to his cynical brother-in-law, former Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron attempts to save the day by showing him what the now over-commercialised holiday is really all about.

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause

The Santa Clause movies keep on coming, and we love them all. The third installment has some cool new characters in it, including the wicked Jack Frost who hatches a plan to sabotage the toy factory. According to Jack’s agenda, Mr Claus wishes he never became Santa Claus and, thus, invokes the obscure Escape Clause.

Olaf‘s Frozen Adventure Plus Six Disney Tales

Kids can’t get enough of Frozen? No, we thought not. This short film sees lovable snowman, Olaf, and reindeer, Sven, go on a mission to find a tradition that Elsa and Anna can adopt for Christmas. Needless to say, chaos ensues. What we love about it is that there is adult humour in it, which makes it good watching for mums and dads, too.
