Top new schools opening in Dubai in 2021-22

Start planning ahead with your kids’ education

When it comes to schools, parents in Dubai are spoiled for choice, but with an ever-growing expat population, there is always room for more.

For anyone looking to move their little ones or for parents starting to think about Early Years education, here’s a little look at some of the new schools – as well as existing schools that are opening additional campuses – that  are opening up across the emirates. So whether your child is starting school for the first time or whether you’re looking to change schools, these are worth a little look.

Brand-new schools in Dubai

Apple International Community School

The new Apple International Community School is based in the heart of Karama and will offer a primary-only UK curriculum for children from three to 11 years of age initially, prior to opening fully from FS to Year 13. The school will follow the popular Early Years Foundation Stage and the Cambridge Primary curriculum, and in line with other schools in the LEAMS group, will offer highly affordable fees for mums and dads.

Cedar School

This new school will offer a British primary school education for kids from FS1 to year 6 with plans to add further school years in the future. Opening a year later than expected, the school promises a holistic approach to education and aims to support the well-rounded development of its pupils.

Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai

The Royal Grammar School Guildford is opening in Dubai this August and is bringing with it 500 years of pioneering heritage and knowledge about what makes a great education. The school will teach the British curriculum to boys and girls aged three to 18, and is currently accepting applications from FS1 to Year 6. With a maximum class size of 20 in early years foundation stage, and 22 in subsequent years, your child is guaranteed personalised learning and support. Opening at the new Tilal Al Ghaf development between Dubai Motor City and Dubai Sports City, the 40,000 sq ft sustainable campus has cutting-edge labs and top-notch sports, music and arts opportunities. It is also the first nearly zero energy school in the Middle East thanks to its eco-friendly design modifications.

Twenty71 Elementary School

With a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and coding, kiddos will learn to be future-proof. Following the US curriculum the school is opening in Nad Al Sheba for kids from pre-KG to grade 5.

Victory Heights

Got tiny tots getting ready to start school? Located in Dubai Sports City, Victory Heights is a popular British school and it has recently announced plans to open a new Victory Heights Foundation Stage School this month. The new purpose-built school will be for just 275 FS1 and FS2 kiddos, the idea being that it will help the young children develop their education away from the hectic older kids. There will be a hall, learning pods, clinic, shared swimming facilities at Victory Heights Primary School., outdoor learning spaces and more.

Windsor School

This will be the fourth school in Dubai from the King’s Education Group and will offer students a British curriculum from FS1 to year 6 with an impressive selection of extra-curricular activities and a holistic approach to learning. The facilities are top-notch too with two swimming pools and several STEM labs on its campus in Al Satwa.

Schools in Dubai opening new branches

Emirates National School

Emirates National School has five existing locations already. The sixth one, which is opening in Al Khawaneej for kids in KG1 to grade 5, will offer the International Baccalaureate programme. Further year groups will open every academic year.

The Australian International School

This school already has a campus in Sharjah, but when it opens its sister school in Dubai, it will be the first to offer the Australian curriculum. Located in Al Barsha, the school will be open to children between four and 17, with all graduates set to received a Queensland Certificate of Education or an International Baccalaureate Diploma.
