The Tiger Who Came to Tea is coming to the UAE

Watch a stage show of Judith Kerr’s classic picture book

A children’s performance of The Tiger Who Came to Tea is coming to the UAE – so you’d better hide your popcorn from the stripy animal with a huge appetite.

Judith Kerr’s classic picture book, which is celebrating its 50 years publishing anniversary this year, is about a greedy tiger who turns up uninvited and proceeds to eat all the food in Sophie’s house.

And it has been magically adapted for the stage.

The show, which will have performances in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, starts with the doorbell ringing just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea.

But the pair are confused as to who it might be as the milkman has already been, it’s the wrong day for the delivery boy and daddy wouldn’t ring the bell because he has a key.

Get your shouty voices ready because this family show is packed with oodles of sing-a-long songs.

Not only that, but the whole shebang has been directed by David Wood OBE, the UK’s leading writer and director of plays and musicals for children. His many successes include Fantastic Mr Fox, The Gingerbread Man, The BFG and The Witches, to name just a few.

The show’s running time is one hour and the show is recommended for kids over three.

Kids, listen up… if you’re lucky, you might even get taken out for a sausage supper after the show!
