Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall has a new space focused on children’s mental wellbeing

The four-week pop-up will be organising loads of kids’ activities for free

Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi has opened a community space to promote mental wellbeing in children.

Social innovation space, The Exchange by Ma’an, is a four-week pop-up hosted by Ma’an Abu Dhabi – the Authority for Social Contribution – that is running from now until Saturday March 7 2020.

Mums and Dads can take the kids along to take part in a load of cool activities such as book readings, workshops and mindfulness sessions and best of all, all the sessions are absolutely free.

Some of the upcoming sessions include a supportive workshop hosted by teacher and author of the Worried William books, Liam Kelly on Wednesday February 19 between 5pm and 6pm and an hour-long strength-building workshop for Mums-to-be and Mums who can bring their little ones along too also on Wednesday February 19 at 10am.

On Friday February 21 children can drop in to a creative session any time between 3pm and 8pm where they will be encouraged to express their feelings through art, while on Saturday February 22 little ones can enjoy a book reading by mindfulness educator and children’s author, Anna Kaminski between noon and 8pm.

On Saturday February 22 a drop-in session between noon and 8pm will show children and their families new ways to represent themselves and their feelings expressively through art while helping you to explore what makes you calm, how certain colours make you feel, and why.

The mental wellbeing of children is hugely important, so this sounds like a top idea to us.
Free. Until Sat Mar 7. The Exchange by Ma’an, Yas Mall, first floor, Abu Dhabi, www.theexchangebymaan.ae/en/workshops.
