Free bilingual book to help kids understand the current health situation

The book has been launched by UAE-based Art Jameel

Art Jameel has launched a free online book to help kids understand everything that is going on in the world at the moment.

The UAE-based art centre, in conjunction with science association Pleiadi and the network of Italian Children’s Museums, has produced a bilingual guide for children

The e-book, Corona Virus: A curious guide for courageous kids, which is free to download and is written in both English and Arabic, is aimed at providing children with relatable and clearly communicated facts about the current health situation the world is facing.

There are creative illustrations and child-friendly language to highlight the precautionary steps that kids can take to stay healthy, plus touches on the values of cooperation, unity and community building.

The guide is currently being translated into 30 languages and distributed to 50 countries.

Commenting on the launch of the e-book, Antonia Carver, Director, Art Jameel, said: “As our colleagues at Pleiadi and the Italian Children’s Museums network have maintained throughout this project, now is a time for solidarity and collaboration across the creative world.”

“We are so thankful to have been able to work together to produce this Arabic/English version of Corona Virus: A curious guide for courageous kids – now our aim is to get the word out, far and wide, and let children have access to the guide across the Arab world and beyond. As the booklet itself says, ‘curiosity will conquer fear’.”

The digital guide is available in Arabic and English on the Art Jameel and Jameel Arts Centre websites.
