Manchester City Football Schools now running in seven venues across the UAE

Little ones can learn the beautiful game across new locations

Celebrating ten years of football programmes in the UAE, Manchester City Football Schools is expanding.

Teaching youngsters the game and developing skills, the football school will operate at seven location across the country from September this year.

As many as a thousand new players will be welcomed into the programme that in the past has welcomed players Aymeric Laporte, Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Fernandinho, along with current manager, Pep Guardiola, to the UAE to work with youngsters.

For the new season, the club is opening its doors to players of all abilities from the age of three to 16.

Venues being used this season include Emirates Palace, Al Maryah Island and Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi and Brighton College, Jumeirah Baccalaureate School, Koora Dome and Uptown School in Dubai.

“Over the years, we have enjoyed being a part of the UAE landscape and seeing so many players play in our football programmes,” said Simon Hewitt, head of MENA Football Operations at City Football Schools.

“We have developed the most inclusive and comprehensive football programme in the UAE and we can’t wait to kick off our 10th season.

“Whether your child is 3 years old and starting their football journey, a teenager wanting to play with their friends or a talented young player with a focus on development – we have a programme for them.

“We have been working hard over the summer and focusing on both returning to play safety and ensuring enjoyment levels as always, for all the returning and new players.”

Through the football school in the past ten years 37 UAE nationals have gone on to sign for professional clubs and 24 of the schools’ teams compete in UAE leagues.
