Job boost for Abu Dhabi

Recruitment chiefs are predicting a positive upswing

A majority of recruitment company chiefs believe the worst is over for the UAE economy and firms are starting to hire again, according to the results of a new survey.

Companies in the UAE, which for the most part had put on hold all recruitment in the face of the economic crisis, have started selectively hiring for the long term, in preparation for a measured recovery in 2010.

A survey conducted by Emirates Business and published on Sunday polled 24 top officials of leading recruitment agencies in the country.

The results showed that a majority were of the view that companies have started selectively hiring and a majority of the respondents in the survey believed that the UAE has seen a bottoming in terms of overall economy.

The paper reported that 75 percent of participants in the survey said that they believed the worst was over and the UAE was exiting the crisis.
