The Dubai Rugby Sevens is something of an institution. It looks like the football sevens could now be following suit.
Tickets go on sale today for the Emirates Airlines Dubai Football Sevens, which takes place on Thursday March 11 to Saturday March 13 at the Sevens stadium.
The event will be the first ever Dubai football sevens.
Up to 3,000 players, 300 teams, in 14 different sections will compete at the weekend-long tournament.
Thursday March 11 will be amateur day when up to 128 amateur teams will compete to go through to the qualifying pool games.
The Legends and professionals tournament will be played on Friday March 12 and Saturday March 13.
As with the Rugby Sevens, there will be a whole host of events and parties surrounding the tournament.
