Andrew Flintoff interview

Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff to become “Ambassador For Dubai “

Andrew Flintoff, darling of English cricket, legend of The Ashes and possibly the world’s most famous freelancer, is to become an Ambassador for Dubai, promoting sports, tourism and lifestyle. Flintoff explained the new role whilst visiting the Time Out Dubai offices earlier this week, fulfilling a dream to be guest editor for the Emirate’s biggest entertainment magazine.

Andrew, who moved out to Dubai with his family in September to recuperate after a career-saving knee operation, says it’s a role he was glad to accept: “It was an easy decision and it made a lot sense,” insisted the 6″4′ ex captain of England. “We’ve been out here before on holidays, I’ve played lots of one day internationals over here and now we’ve moved out here. The lifestyle is fantastic, especially from a family point of view.”

In his exclusive interview, Flintoff explained that for the near future at least, cricket is on hold as he recuperates from another, smaller knee operation that took place last week. “The operation went fine and it’s all healing, but there are a couple of considerations, mainly time, so I need another six months or so and then I can get back playing for Lancashire in the summer.”
