Abu Dhabi Motors hits record high in sales in 2009…

Abu Dhabi Motors announced on Monday that it had recorded a six percent growth during the year, selling the highest number of cars in its 20 year history. This is despite the premium automotive sector being down by 25 percent as compared to previous year’s figures.

The company is the exclusive importer for BMW, MINI and the sole dealer for Rolls Royce in Abu Dhabi emirate. In 2009, it exceeded 2,600 sales, with the most popular cars being the top of the range BMW models.

Also contributing towards this record performance was the sales of the MINI brand, which increased by seven percent over 2008’s sales, making Abu Dhabi Motors the largest and most successful importer of MINI in the Middle East.

Arno Husselmann, general manager, Abu Dhabi Motors, said: “We are delighted to record such positive sales results amid tough market conditions.”

He added: “Although we anticipate some of the challenges faced in 2009 to remain during 2010, we will continue to deliver the best service to our customers.”

In the last twelve months Abu Dhabi Motors has achieved significant milestones, including the recent opening of a state of the art showroom and service centre in Al Ain, with an emphasis on heavy training for its sales team.

The company is also undergoing a multimillion dollar redevelopment to its Umm Al Nar showroom, which will be dedicated to the company’s MINI and BPS brands.

In 2010, the company will also open an exclusive Rolls Royce showroom, which is set to be the largest Rolls Royce showroom in the world.
