Abu Dhabi Airport named world’s ‘most improved’…

Abu Dhabi Airport has been named the most improved in the world at the ‘Oscars’ of the airline industry.

The airport’s win at the Skytrax World Airport Awards in Brussels, Belgium, was based on the votes of more than 9.8 million travellers from 100 different countries.

It moved up to become the 26th best airport in the world, a jump of 47 places that has been credited largely to the multibillion-dollar investment that has transformed the facility in recent months.

“This is a fantastic endorsement of the hard work of management and staff,” said HE Khalifa Al Mazrouei, chairman of ADAC, the operator of Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“In the last year, ADAC has introduced a new terminal, new parking facilities, free wi-fi and use of new technologies, as well as a unique travel retail and F&B offering, and a comprehensive service quality training programme for our staff,” he continued.

“We are honoured to have been recognised by passengers for them work we have done and ADAC will keep firm on its commitment to do more in the future.”

The survey of airport customers was conducted between July 2009 and March 2010 at more than 200 airports.
