Renowned restaurant brand Hakkasan has confirmed it will launch in Abu Dhabi next month, with the new outlet set to open at Emirates Palace on June 1.
The Michelin-starred London brand will showcase its contemporary Chinese style in a luxuriously styled 165-cover restaurant with a private entrance and four private dining rooms.
Emirates Palace general manager Hans Olbertz commented: “The Hakkasan restaurant will be an extraordinary experience for our hotel guests and visitors.
“We are very much looking forward to the grand opening and to welcoming food-lovers and pleasure-seekers alike to come and enjoy the Hakkasan experience.”
Heading up the kitchen team will be Lee Kok Hua, from Hakkasan London, who has worked underneath established head chef Tong Chee Hwee for five years.
Hua has added his own flair to the menu, with new dishes specifically designed for the UAE market fused with Hakkasan classics such as the Peking duck with Royal Beluga caviar; steamed dim sum platters; and grilled Wagyu beef with king soya sauce.
In 2004, Hakkasan became the first Chinese restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star.
In addition to the renowned London outlet, Hakkasan has a branch in Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and the Emirates Palace opening will be followed by another London opening – this time in Mayfair – later in the year.
The Hakkasan group is owned by Abu Dhabi’s property investment company Tasameem, which also owns London’s Michelin-starred dim sum restaurant Yauatcha in London.
