Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tickets

UAE fans can buy tickets for the November 14 event first on May 16…

UAE residents will get the chance to buy tickets for November’s Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on May 16, a day before tickets go on sale to the rest of the world, the race’s organisers have confirmed.

Tickets for the race, which takes place at Yas Marina Circuit on November 14, will go on sale in Abu Dhabi’s Marina Mall and the Dubai Mall from 4pm on Sunday May 16 and will then go on sale worldwide from 10am on Monday May 17.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak, chairman of the Yas Marina Circuit, said: “The Formula One Etihad Airways 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was a wonderful celebration and widely regarded at home and abroad as a great success. Because of the resulting global interest in this year’s event it was important for us to make sure that the people of the UAE have a guaranteed opportunity to secure their tickets and be part of the celebrations in November.

“We would therefore encourage people to buy their tickets when they become available on May 16 and ensure that they are part of the 2010 festivities.”

There will be three types of tickets available. Grandstand tickets will be priced from AED1,800 ($490) for two days and AED2,000 ($544.49) for three days. Premium “Category 1” ticket, which are three-day tickets and include balcony seating, air-conditioned lounges and VIP parking, start from AED4,250 ($1,157.06).

Finally, Paddock Club ticket, which is the full VIP experience, starts from AED14,480 ($3,942.17). A 20 percent discount on tickets will be available for a limited time.
