Abu Dhabi Grand Prix shifted for 2011

Yas Marina replaced by Brazilian GP as next year’s season finale

With the tantalising prospect of a down-to-the-wire season finale at the Yas Marina Circuit now just two months away, F1’s big bosses have just announced the race schedule for next year’s season. It’s set to be the sport’s busiest year ever, with the announcement of a new Indian Grand Prix to be held in Delhi at the end of October bumping the race tally up to a record 20.

But disappointingly for local speed freaks, the third Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has been robbed of its end-of-season slot in the schedule, with the climactic race shifting back to the Interlagos Circuit in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will instead be the penultimate race of next season, taking place on November 13. Still, with F1 more competitive than ever, it at least looks a certainty that this year’s driver and constructor champions will be decided on Yas Island on November 14.
