We are weekly!

Time Out Abu Dhabi becomes the global brand’s 10th weekly magazine

As anyone who’s spent any time in the region will attest, Abu Dhabi waits for no man. Where once stood clusters of bored camels and the odd palm tree now exists the Middle East’s most bustling metropolis of shops, bars, restaurants, cafés and galleries. In the past few years especially, it’s been nigh on impossible to keep up. But rather than admit defeat and submit to Dhabi’s demanding new diary, we’ve gone and launched an ingenious counter-strike. In an effort to keep you abreast of the big events, openings and offers happening in the UAE’s most exciting city, Time Out Abu Dhabi has just become the 10th Time Out to go weekly (the other option was a monthly the size of a phone book, which just seemed a bit silly).

Heading up the first of our weekly extravaganzas, we’ve got a five-page feature stuffed full of things to keep you busy on a Friday, as well as our tips for the best ways to spend your four-day Eid weekend. We’ve also had a dig through the Time Out archives for a look at some of the ground-breaking moments in the international magazine’s 42 year history, remembering the days when we were little more than a handful of men sitting in a dusty London shed, writing about Bob Dylan’s latest tour and chainsmoking like hairy chimneys. Beyond that, our world-renowned listings have also been given the turbo-charge treatment. Highlights this week include our verdict on the capital’s first Emirati restaurant, a chat with Dhabi-bound, deck-wielding leviathan Judge Jules and details on what you can do to help the city’s overfishing crisis.

As well as stacks more content, we’ve also been hard at work on our hi-tech Etch-a-Sketches to give the whole magazine a brand new look. So not only will you step into the weekend loaded with more social inspiration than ever before, but your eyeballs get to enjoy a jazzy treat along the way.

Fancy a piece of the action? You’ll find your all-new weekly TOAD on shelves in all good book stores, supermarkets, petrol stations and hotels, every single Thursday, 52 weeks a year.
