Abu Dhabi’s bid to become one of the Middle East’s premier shopping destinations has taken a huge boost with the news that two retail giants will be opening stores in the capital in the next few months.
Waitrose, the favourite supermarket for English well-to-do folk, will be opening a small small outlet in the Al Raha Beach development in the second half of this year. While House of Fraser, a high end English fashion and beauty department store, will open in the third quarter of next year in the Emporium at the Souk at Central Market.
It has also been recently announced that Marks & Spencer would be launching its second shop in Abu Dhabi at Marina Mall, alongside its present store at the Fotouh Al Khair Centre on Airport Road.
