Eminem to play Abu Dhabi F1 gig

Award-winning rapper joins Kylie Minogue and Nickelback for F1 weekend gigs

Record-busting rapper Eminem is to play the UAE later this year as part of the post-F1 celebrations in Abu Dhabi.

The American rhyme-maker is the best-selling artist of the 2000s, clocking up more than 32 million record sales over the decade.

Now the ‘real Slim Shady’ will play the third and final night of the Yasalam After-Race Concert series on Sunday, November 4. He takes the closing slot last year filled by ex-Beatle Paul McCartney.

The 39-year-old Grammy Award-winner joins Australian singer Kylie Minogue and US rockers Nickelback, who were announced last week as headliners, playing on Thursday November 2 and Friday November 3 respectively.

Bursting onto the scene with major label debut The Slim Shady LP in 1999, Eminem went on to sell more than 10 million copies of his third, The Marshall Mathers LP released in 2000, while it’s follow-up The Enimen Show, achieved similar sales. However the rapper took a lengthy hiatus following 2004’s Encore, returning to the airwaves with 2009’s Relapse, and then Recovery released a year later.

The Yasalam After-Race Concerts are exclusively for Formula 1 ticket-holders. Race tickets include a Y1 Access package, which gives value-added benefits during the race weekend, including access to all three Yasalam After-Race Concerts.
