Sesame Street in Abu Dhabi

Get ready to welcome the much loved characters of the famous Sesame Street into the gulf. Plans to expand the show to the young Arabic public in the region were announced at the Abu Dhabi Media Summit. The President and Chief Executive of the Sesame Workshop spoke to the summit through a video link, announcing intended plans to bring Big Bird and the crew to the area. An Arabic version of the show, called Iftah Ya Simsim, aired in the late 1970s in some countries in the Levant.
