An affiliate of the Department of Transport, Mawaqif, has announced that it will now issue Dhs500 fines to anyone that has their car cleaned while parked in their paid parking zones. Mawaqif has set up over 70,000 paid parking spots around the city and has strict regulations concerning their use. So next time you are approached in the parking lot by someone offering to wash your vehicle for Dhs30, remember to add on another Dhs500 to that.
