Depeche Mode to headline 2013 Abu Dhabi F1 concerts

Brit trio to play du Arena on Sunday November 3

FLASH Entertainment and Abu Dhabi’s Tourism and Cultural Authority have announced British electronic music trip Depeche Mode will play the headline concert after this year’s Abu Dhabi F1 race.

The Yasalam after-race concerts have become one of the biggest entertainment events in the UAE in recent years with recent headliners including Eminem, Kylie Minogue, Nickelback, Paul McCartney and Britney Spears.

This year the weekend of musical concerts will be extended to four days with a collection of headline Arab musical performers also promised.

What has been described as a ‘star studded line-up of musical talent from the UAE and the Arab world’ will begin the F1 festivities on Thursday October 31st.

Two additional headline acts will play on Friday November 1 and Saturday November 2 before Depeche Mode – a band with more than 100m album sales worldwide – will play after the 2013 Abu Dhabi F1 race.

Mubarak Al Nuami, TCA Abu Dhabi’s Director of Promotion and Overseas Offices, outlined the central role of the after-race Concerts in attracting ever- increasing numbers of overseas visitors to Abu Dhabi’s plush Yas Island circuit: “The after-race concerts are central to the overall Abu Dhabi Grand Prix experience and the calibre of artists already confirmed for November underlines what it is that makes the emirate’s flagship sporting event such an attractive ticket for domestic, regional and international fans.”
