Final Abu Dhabi F1 headliner to be announced live in Dubai

Organisers promising 400 free passes to selected fans who gather in Dubai

After months of hype and speculation the final headline act at this year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be announced in a public ceremony in Dubai.

It has already revealed that rock trio Muse and electronic icons Depeche Mode will perform at this year’s Yasalam After-Race Concert series, hosted at Yas Island’s du Arena on Saturday November 2 and Sunday November 3 respectively.

However ticketholders have been left waiting for news on who will play on the opening Friday night – while some pretty huge names have been bandied about on the rumour bill.

Now organisers have announced they will break the silence with a public announcement, at Virgin Megastores in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates on Monday August 19 at 4pm, and are encouraging fans to gather to hear the news first.

The first 200 fans to show up will receive two complimentary tickets to the concert, while the first 40 in the queue will receive a three-day pass to the entire race weekend.

Despite ongoing rumours, all that organisers have officially confirmed is that the headline artist has never been to the Middle East before.

The race celebrations begin a day earlier on Thursday October 31, when a bill of Arabic stars including Amr Diab, Elissa and Hussain Al Jassmi kick off one of the biggest weekends of the year.

The After-Race Concerts are only open to race ticket holders. See www.yasmarinacircuit.com.
