New cameras to clamp down on light jumpers

You might have noticed new cameras popping up at signals all over the emirate. These cameras take photos of drivers who don’t stop at red lights using infrared (which don’t use a fl ash, so violators won’t know they’ve been recorded) and the plan is to install 150 of them at intersections all over Abu Dhabi. Jumping a red light at any time is a pretty dangerous thing to do but now there’s even more incentive to slow down and abide by the rules of the road.
