3 things to do today in Abu Dhabi

Head out to Yas and drive around the F1 track

Thursday, September 5

Learn a new lingo and save: The French Alliance is holding language classes for those of you wanting to learn either Arabic or French. You can register for one of its courses up until September 7, but if you register before September 5, you can save yourself ten percent off the fee.
French Alliance, Al Khalidiyah (02 666 6232).

Drive around the F1 track: Yas Marina Circuit is holding two of their track days on September 4 and 5 this month. So if you think your chunky SUV or rental Nissan Sunny might be ready to take on the tight corners of a real Formula One track, head on down.
Dhs650 for a half day, Dhs1,000 for a full day. Yas Island, www.yasmarinacircuit.com (02 659 9800).

Head out to Yas: If you want a delectable fusion of flavours from regions bordering the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf head to the Yas Viceroy. Atayeb restaurant takes Moroccan, Tunisian, Lebanese and Syrian old-world tastes and gives them a modern flair with stews, tagines and couscous dishes.
