The UAE’s residents are known for a fondness of the finer things in life – and now even coffee chains are getting in on the VIP treatment.
US coffee giants Starbucks have launched a new ‘high-end destination’ at the Shangri-La Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
While on the outside it looks much like any other branch of the chain, we’re told the new Starbucks Reserve offers a ‘range of specially selected single-origin coffees’ that have been prepared with ‘a unique Clover brewing system’.
If that all sounds a bit beguiling to you, we can tell you that the high-tech Clover system uses vacuum-press technology to prepare the coffee, and then controls the brewing time digitally. Sounds fancy – and the proof, we’re sure, will be in the tasting.
