Walk and support: As part of DiabetesUAE, which focuses on raising awareness of the disease, you can take part in Walk 2013 and do your bit to raise money by joining the expected 17,000 people walking around Yas Marina circuit.

Party on the beach: Now this sounds like great fun. From noon-9pm you can enjoy a pool, Jacuzzi and DJing from Chris Delaney at this all-day beach party – and did we mention there’s also a boat trip? An unmissable weekend experience.

Go to a bazaar: The Feline Friends Christmas Bazaar looks to be of epic proportions. This family fun day, at the Abu Dhabi City Golf Club, will have a kids’ play area (face painting, bouncy castle and sand-art included), ongoing entertainment throughout the night, a fashion show, more than 130 stalls selling their wares, a food village to stuff yourself silly and raffles – all for a worthy cause.
