Abu Dhabi declares holiday for Prophet’s birthday

Sunday January 12 will be a holiday for the public and private sectors in the UAE

The UAE on Sunday declared a holiday for the public and private sectors on January 12 for the Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday.

Ministries and federal departments will be closed on Sunday, giving employees a long weekend, news agency WAM said.

The decision was announced in a circular issued on Sunday by Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of the Federal Authority for Human Resources, Humaid bin Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami.
