World’s ‘most loved’ football club set for training in the sun at Dubai Sports City

Manchester United Football Club are plotting an escape from the mounting pressures of their Premier League underperformance – with a trip to Dubai.

The world’s ‘most popular’ football team will be flying into the emirate later this week, following the club’s crucial clash with Arsenal on Wednesday February 12, according to reports.

United have a ten-day break from the pitch, after being dumped out of the FA Cup at entry level round three at the hands of Swansea City last month.

It has been reported by newspapers in the UK that Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Robin van Perse and the rest of the squad will spend a week in the UAE, with training sessions booked at Dubai Sports City.

Reigning league champions Manchester United are seventh in the English Premier League at the time of writing, ahead of Sunday’s clash with Fulham, trailing top position Chelsea by 16 points.

The squad with be forced to return to the UK’s winter weather in time for an away game at Crystal Palace on February 22.

According to estimates, Manchester United can count on the support of more than 250 million fans across the globe, making them the world’s most popular football club.
