Top TV soap filming in Dubai and Abu Dhabi today

US Emmy-winning hit The Bold and the Beautiful rolling cameras at Burj Khalifa, Emirates Palace and more

An acclaimed US TV soap will this week make history when it becomes the world’s first daytime drama to shoot in the UAE.

Multi Emmy-winning drama The Bold and the Beautiful will today (Monday March 17) begin three days of shooting throughout Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The show’s team will make the most of their stay in the emirates, with shoots lined up at Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, Atlantis The Palm, Dubai Mall Promenade and the Skydive Dubai Helipad.

Meanwhile in the capital the cast and crew will be on location in Emirates Palace, along the Corniche, Yas Marina Circuit and the Marina.

The shoots will be under the creative leadership of executive producer and head writer Bradley P Bell. He said: ‘I’ve been fascinated with Dubai and Abu Dhabi for quite some time because of their spectacular skylines rising up out of the desert on the Persian Gulf, and the fantastic convergence of diverse international cultures.’

The UAE will crop up in a total of eight episodes of the hit show, pencilled in to air in the USA from May 23 to June 6 this year.

Mr Bell tells us the story will see business mogul Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) whisk his fiancée Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) off to the UAE to get married, before possessive ex-husband Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) follows them to break up the party.

We can expect the scenes to be shown regionally on Dubai One in 2015.

Sarah Al Jarman, Dubai One channel manager, said: ‘We are very excited about The Bold and the Beautiful coming out to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for the filming of their episodes.

‘We have such a strong following for the show on our channel and having the cast here, and the team, filming in the region, really makes it relative for our viewer which makes it that more engaging.’

During the three days of filming Abu Dhabi-based film and television company twofour54 will provide the show with production services and up to 20 local crew members.
