The City of Hope shelter for abused women and children is proud to announce its new international status as a US-registered NGO. Re-invented as United Hope, the organisation describes itself as a leading advocate of basic human rights for all. Founder and director Sharla Musabih tells Time Out that the new and improved United Hope is working ‘in partnership with the US state department to combat human trafficking’. Musabih adds: ‘We will create a change on behalf of all women and children suffering from violence.’

Save A Kitten
This puss was found in a petrol station forecourt in early January and needs a good home. Gaby Doman, who found the puss, says: ‘She’s very playful and likes to be fussed. She purrs all the time and even when she’s left in the flat all day she’ll never destroy anything. In fact, she’s perfect.’ Gaby has already taken ‘Suki’ to the vets for all the required jabs and tests, and promises to set up the new owner with meat, biscuits and litter. ‘She travels light, but she’ll bring her ball with her,’ says Gaby. ‘If anyone can offer a better home for her than I can, call me.’
