Officials are forging forward with a new law to boost health and safety in the UAE

The Ministry of Labour and the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost cooperation and coordination in various fields related to health and safety.

The MoU provides for coordinating efforts in the fields of occupational health, safety activities, preventive measures, damage control and work-related injuries in Abu Dhabi.

The MoU aims at understanding and specifying the role and responsibility of both bodies in the field of occupational health and exchanging information on strategies, work plans and initiatives related to prevention, injury and damage control and occupational diseases.

The two sides will cooperate in planned strategic development of occupational health systems, support services, infrastructure and capacity in Abu Dhabi, as well as awareness programmes.

The MoU was signed by Humaid Bin Deemas, Acting Director General of the Labour Ministry and Zaid Al Suksuk, Director General of the authority.
