It might only have been a friendly, but there was nothing cordial about Germany’s 7-2 battering of the UAE football team last night at Al Maktoum Stadium.
Mario Gomez scored four goals as mighty Germany beat the humidity to triumph at Al Nasr’s Maktoum Stadium.
The UAE team did a good job in matching the Germans till the 28th minute. At which point, it all went very wrong.
Westermann opened the scoring two minutes from the half hour mark, and it went down hill from there.
This was the final match of the season for the German national team while the UAE national side is preparing for their last two qualifiers of the 2010 Fifa World Cup against South Korea (June 6and Iran (June 10).
