Based on the 1997 novel Ponto de Partida by Brazilian medium Chico Xavier (a writer who believes his work is dictated to him by spirits), this revolves around down-and-out LA residents brought together on Christmas Eve. The result is a beguiling mash of Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Amores Perros and recent smash New Year’s Eve.
