David Hasselhoff stars in what is likely to be an absolutely forgettable sequel to an absolutely forgettable film. Anyone remember Beverly Hills Ninja, a farcical physical comedy starring Chris Farley as a white orphan boy raised by a pack of ninjas? Farley’s Haru was then set loose solving a murder (cough) in Beverly Hills (splutter), the movie nothing but a one-note device for its lead to spend 88 minutes crashing into things/falling over/knocking things over. If you do remember that, you’re in luck, because co-writer Mitchell Klebanoff – a man with little else but a few episodes of The Jersey on his CV – has not only penned the entirety of this sequel, 13 years later, but has also been offered a career first in the director’s chair. Obviously we’re on the edge of our rockers to see if he can pull this one off. Although with High School Musical star Lucas Grabeel taking the lead and Hasselhoff performing the theme tune, being entirely off your rocker may help enjoyment of this one.
